Gargazzone can boast of two churches: the Parish Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was built in the years 1900 - 1930 from South Tyrolean porphyry stone in the style of neo-Romanesque and neo-Gothic. The construction of the church had become necessary, as only half of the Gargazzo village population found place in the existing church of St. John the Baptist.
The interior of the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is generally kept very simple.

First mentioned in 1337. The gothic style church was rebuilt and restored several times over the centuries. With its 13.5 m high pinnacle, the polygonal chorale, the beautiful barrel vault and the altar in stucco marble with the image of the baptism of Jesus, the small church is a real gem.

“And since in the Sacred Heart there is a symbol and a tangible image of the infinite love of Jesus Christ, which moves us to love one another, it is therefore fitting that we consecrate ourselves to His Most Sacred Heart - an act which is nothing other than a sacrifice and a commitment to Jesus Christ, because all the honor, veneration and love given to this divine Heart are really and truly given to Christ Himself.”
(Pope LEO XIII, “Annum Sacrum”, 1899)
