This is the HP of mainland Portugal. The short way up is to drive up to the top, park up and walk 50m to the summit and then go and buy some good cheese and meats from the summit shops!

At exactly 1,993 meters above sea level, Torre is the highest point in mainland Portugal, home to the only ski resort. The landscape on the upper plateau of the Serra da Estrela is a scattering of granite boulders over low-lying scrubland and patches of snow and ice, which the sun threatens to melt soon in the summer and always returns the following winter.
