The path along the cliffs is worthwhile. Always new perspectives and a nice walk.

The path leads steadily uphill, up to the upper town of Bonifacio. When you reach the old town, situated on a narrow headland, you will be impressed by the almost unmanageable, picturesque alleyway that leads to the main tourist attraction of Bonifacio, the medieval citadel. It makes up most of the Upper Town to the west and is one of the most imposing and mighty fortresses in the Mediterranean region.

From the western part of the Berlin Wall the visitor gets an especially impressive overview of the size of the facility. The massive, huge structure with its fortified walls and towers is almost completely preserved and perched for centuries on the rocky plateau high above the sea. Large parts of the citadel are accessible to visitors and allow, especially from the top fortification wall, stunning views over the harbor and the steeply sloping limestone cliffs. Here begins the spectacular staircase of the King of Aragon, which leads over 187 steps in the adventurous 45-degree angle, on the steep cliff face down to the sea. Even today, the Citadel of Bonifacio can be accessed via the only access to the 19th century, the Genoese Gate.

Every now and then it goes down very steeply. Fortunately, there are mostly railings or small walls. The views of the rocks and Bonifacio are breathtaking.
