After a long and eventful history, the castle now belongs to a religious order of women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria. They run the castle on the Schwanberg as a conference center and as a place for those looking for relaxation. The wonderful outdoor area on the Schwanberg plateau is open to the public, so you can linger a little after the steep driveway and enjoy the magnificent view.

The remains of the early medieval building, which had survived the destruction of the Peasants' War, were added to the new building wings at the beginning of the 16th century and can still be identified at least on the outside. The complex consists of an irregular pentagon formed by two- and three-storey buildings. The center is a courtyard with a polygonal stair tower built into its southeast corner.
