Hiking
The Vela Vrata ("Great Gate") in Buzet is a historic city gate dating back to 1547, the main entrance to the fortified old town, and is decorated with a relief of the town's patron saint, St. George. It is considered a symbol of the town's history and hospitality, as the gates to Buzet were never closed. Today, it is not only a significant architectural monument but also a tourist attraction, as the boutique hotel Vela Vrata with a gourmet restaurant is located right next door, offering Istrian specialties and wines in a historic setting.

Hiking
The Buzet City Gate, also called "Vela Vrata," dates back to 1670 and is the main entrance to the old town and a striking example of Istrian Baroque architecture. It was commissioned by the Venetians and features the Venetian coat of arms with the winged lion of St. Mark above the stone arch, a reminder of the period of Venetian rule to this day. The gate served not only as an entrance but also as a symbol of power and a prestigious entrance to the fortified old town of Buzet and is today one of the town's most striking landmarks.
