The sister model of the General Blumenthal shaft was equipped with frame support 11 - 1961 in operation. From 1987 to 1991, shaft 1 was sunk deeper as a central cable car and material shaft and overbuilt with a new winding tower. 1998 after the takeover by the German hard coal AG took place the merger of the mines Westerholt and Prince Leopold to the mine Lippe. With the mine Lippe closed 2008 the last promoting hard coal mine in Gelsenkirchen.
