At first you feel a bit like in the jungle when you turn right from the Turmstraße of the Löbauer Berg in the direction of Schafberg. But then more and more boulders emerge and after a climb, the deciduous forest suddenly reveals a view to the south-east. A bench invites you to linger and enjoy the view towards Lausche, Oderwitzer Spitzberg and Kottmar. The man whose name the resting place and the path leading past bears by it must have passed by here more often: Oskar Rolle. In his honor, the bench was set up 60 years ago on August 27th. A plaque is attached to a block of rock in front of it: "In honor of our Oskar Rolle 1880 - 1958, mountain group Löbau, DKB". DKB was the abbreviation for Deutscher Kulturbund der DDR. The Löbau mountain group, which had been founded in 1920 as a local group of the Giant Mountain Association, continued to work in the GDR under its umbrella.
