A quick outer circle around the island was planned. One or the other hailstorm made us search for and find shelter in the dunes 😅, the steady stormy wind 🌬 then blew us dry again and at times "pushed" and and the sand blew around our noses and between our teeth 😆.
At the eastern tip, Hoge Hörn, we had to find a way through the swampy terrain. The path was no longer recognizable and the storm "Sabine" obviously destroyed the only bridge over the deep tidal creek 😳🤣 ...
We were forced to turn back and the tide blocked our normal way back. Just spared from attacks by the gulls, we found a way through the salt marshes. Now it was time to take off our shoes and roll up our trousers ... every 20 m crossing a body of water we reached the southern dunes and soon the dike of the South Island. 😅
In the meantime the wind had reached a good 35 kn, in gusts surely more (according to the "Windfinder" app) and we started to sweat when we were running in the headwind over the good 6 km !! It was like walking against a wall and we barely made any progress 😅😅😰😅😂 .... but had a lot of fun with it 👍! "Sneaker or patent shoe" ?? 😆😂 ... run on the dike or next to the dike ??? We almost always stayed upstairs and only left the top of the dike for a snack ✌️😂.
The last part of the way along the west coast along the south beach was pure pleasure! The light, the sun, the sea, it was still storming ... wonderful !!! 🦀
In the Café "Strand" we treated ourselves to a sea buckthorn with a sea view ... later a sunset to the finish line ... great!
A wonderful day 😅😴😴😴

Today I took part in a group hike. The tour was organized by Cornell and was a really nice route. With about 20 participants it was quite a challenge for me as a loner but also a nice experience. I thought it was good that I didn't have to worry about the way as usual, but could just walk along. I was also able to have one or two good conversations with my fellow migrants. You can of course switch off and enjoy on your own quite differently. But in a smaller group I can imagine participating again. Windfee and Kai: it was not clear to me that you cannot contact each other directly at Komoot ... but if you like you can also find me on Instagram or Facebook (same name and picture) and there are news functions there. It was nice with you.

A challenging hiking trail along the mining history of the Alps. Almost all the mountains in the region are criss-crossed by tunnels. To get the ore into the valley "braking distances" were created. These cut through dead straight and over some 5 km long routes and many hundred meters of altitude the forest. Unbelievable what the miners in this area had to do for over 10 hours a day. The up and down is not even counted.
Today is called extreme sports and even that is just "pill"! 🤔!
The hike is very varied. The terrain and the ground change as often as grandiose views. There is also a summit. Have fun...
