Designed by architect William Jay, finished in 1819 for merchant and banker Richard Richardson, later acquired by the Owens family. With many original furniture. Guided public tours through the house and Slave quarters.

Tells not only about the residents of the manorial house, but also about the history of the slaves who had to live in the neighboring house next to the stables.

A beautiful garden and an interesting exhibition in the stables.

I would recommend it to anyone who has the time and is interested in old houses.

The Owens-Thomas House was designed by William Jay in English Regency architectural style and erected in 1819. There’s a transitional style between Georgian and Classic Revival because of the Greek columns and Roman arches.
