Until the 1920s, there was a simple log house on the elbow, built by the Kaltensundheim branch of the Rhönklub. It was replaced by a simple stone bench made from local basalt stones. Not far from there, the Eisenach branch of the Rhönklub built the Eisenacher Haus.

Not far from the elbow with the very special "Noahs Segel" observation tower, the Eisenach house offers the perfect opportunity for a stop. For some, it is also the destination or start of the long-distance hiking trail between Eisenach and the Eisenacher Haus - a distance of approx. 75 km.
