The 1764 square meter Jewish cemetery in the Bönninghardter Heide (Xantener Weg) can be reached from the main road via a forest path, it is right on the edge of the forest. The route is signposted from Weseler Straße (Bundesstraße B 58).

Although the oldest surviving tombstones date from 1829 and 1831, the cemetery is said to have been laid out around 1838. It was occupied until 1931 and used by the Jews of Geldern until 1866, when they received their own cemetery (Reuter 2007).
