This park (Piața Hermann Oberth) was named after the Transylvanian physicist and rocket pioneer Hermann Oberth (1894 to 1989). His bust stands on a house at the northeast corner of the beautifully landscaped grounds. Hermann Oberth Square was the old market square of the Lower Town. It has a triangular layout and extends along a slope toward the Citadel Hill. The facades of the square's buildings form harmonious ensembles, and the sloping streets offer interesting perspectives.
