There are not many jetties at the Schaalsee, although the lake is so huge, because it is strictly under nature protection and every boat that wants to drive here needs an annual license, which is attached to the respective boat with an adhesive sticker. There is only a certain contingent of badges that are awarded at all.

There are four rowing boats here, but for us it's just nicer that we can put our feet in the water perfectly. The water is shallow and crystal clear with a sandy bottom, but ice cold - you can't get more refreshment after a strenuous hike or bike ride across the island. Oh wait, just stay...
