Hurricane Creek spans 15.5 miles through the Ozark National Forest and is a tributary of Big Piney Creek, which ultimately feeds into the Mississippi River system. The blue-green waters of this clean, rocky stream are beautiful as it winds through richly diverse vegetation, including picturesque canopies of Beech in some areas. Protected under the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, the main use of this creek and the surrounding area comes from hikers on the OHT, making it a popular spot for hiking, camping, backpacking, and fishing.
