The state of preservation of the Großsteingrab Blankensee of the type "Holsteiner Kammer" is unfortunately not the best. Already during the excavation by Pastor K. Klug in the middle of the 19th century, the stone chamber, which was uncovered within an extant outer stone circle, was disturbed by the sinking of a cover stone.
