The mill was built in 1804 and was in operation until 1968. Today it is an art gallery and viewings are possible by telephone arrangement. It is also wonderful to admire from the outside. It is located directly on the Großefehn Canal, where the small Café Antje is moored. There is the finest East Frisian tea and delicious waffles on board.

Cycling

The two-story Dutch gallery on the Großefehn Canal was built in 1804. The three grinding courses were mainly used to process buckwheat, as it was a main fruit of the fen colonies. Around 1900 a test facility for power generation was installed. The mill was in operation until 1968 and is still fully functional today.
