This town house was built at the beginning of the 16th century and given a baroque makeover at the end of the 17th century. The two baroque houses that have been put together are located on the corner of Hauptplatz and Sporgasse, and are easily recognizable by the only medieval arcade on the ground floor and the magnificent stucco facade by Domenico Boscho around 1680. The special feature of these facades are the noses and mouths hidden between fruit garlands and vases, which can only be discovered upon closer inspection. The corner house was originally called "Moßeregg", later the unusual name "Luegg" emerged, from Lugen = to look, to peek around the corner. From the Schlossberg you can see the moat roofs, a special feature of Graz's roof landscape.

A beautiful house with the ornaments

The two Luegg houses with the house numbers 11 and 12 are located on the eastern edge of the trapezoidal main square in Graz, which was built between 1156 and 1164, right on the corner of Sporgasse.

The houses are decorated with beautiful baroque stucco, which differs in both style and color, which is why it is not visually apparent that these two houses belong together. Another special feature of the two houses is that they are the only ones on the main square whose late Gothic arcades have been preserved to this day, and this is the case along almost the entire length of their facade.
