The Fortezza Vecchia of Villasimius is a small 14th century fortress built to protect Sardinia from pirate attacks. It took on its current appearance through modifications and additions which ended in the 16th century. The fortress can be easily reached on foot from the center of Villasimius and the sea views make the short walk pleasant.

The Fortezza Vecchia di Villasimius ('Old Fortress of Villasimius') is a small 14th-century fortress on the south coast of the Italian island of Sardinia. The fortress got its current appearance through conversions and additions in the 16th century, when it was supposed to protect Sardinia from pirate attacks from the Barbary states. The Fortezza Vecchia is located in the municipality of Villasimius in the metropolitan city of Cagliari.
