A turbe is a traditional Ottoman-style tomb, often built for important figures such as religious leaders, military commanders, or local nobility.
This particular turbe is part of the Fethija Mosque complex, which has an interesting history itself — originally built as a Gothic church in the 13th century, it was later converted into a mosque after the Ottoman conquest.
The turbe is octagonal in shape, made of stone, with decorative Islamic motifs around the windows and a distinctive dome-shaped roof. It serves as a resting place for significant historical figures from the Ottoman period, symbolizing the blend of local and Ottoman architectural heritage.
