The estate Holzdorf is known for its architecturally valuable manor house and a landscaped park of the "Early Modern".

It is worth making a longer stop here.

The field was first cultivated around 1890 when the manorial gardens were created. The Mannheim manufacturer Dr. Otto Krebs "ordered" the estate in 1917. Later he sowed and reaped: by 1940 the estate became a country estate with an imposing manor house surrounded by a park with a rose garden, Alpinum, water lily pond and pavilion.
A paradise at the gates of Weimar - until World War II and the death of Otto Krebs. After 1945 the land lay fallow and was used, among other things, as a school for interpreter training and as a children's home. In 1999, the Diakonie Landgut Holzdorf, a non-profit organization, acquired the estate from the city of Weimar with the aim of developing the culturally and art-historically important property into a social and diaconal center.

The mansion now houses an exhibition of 20 masterfully crafted replicas from Dr. Otto Krebs.
Opportunities for viewing: every 1st Sunday of the month: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m

The cafeteria seats 60 guests. Coffee, snacks, sweets and healthy food are offered there from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
