The current gate was built when the urban development in the area of the northern Ramsharde district had expanded a few hundred meters to the north. The exact date of the construction of today's Nordertor is not certain, as there is no clear source that states when it was built. Therefore, the figures fluctuate between the years 1595 and 1596. The Nordertor consists of red brick, an archway and stepped gables.
