The Farol de Montedor in Carreço is the northernmost lighthouse on the Portuguese coast. It was opened on March 20, 1910, and stands on a large cliff. Its tower is square, made of granite, and approximately 28 meters high. It has a semicircular roof, painted red, and is crowned by a weather vane. It offers spectacular views of the Atlantic. Just below, you can also visit an old windmill.
