At an elevation of approximately 600 meters, the Shannon Basin Loop Trail crosses Shannon Creek on a bridge. Shortly thereafter, it joins the Sea-to-Summit Trail and leads steeply uphill through rocky terrain to the top station of the Sea-to-Sky Gondola.
