This car park forms the gateway to one of Donegal's most unique cycle paths. You are standing here on the route of the former Burtonport Extension Railway, a railway line that ran through this rugged landscape until 1947. From here you can cycle an almost flat segment over the old railway bed. This offers a unique perspective on the flanks of Muckish without you having to climb the mountain yourself.
