Magpie Campground is nestled within the Dakota Prairie Grasslands, and is a shaded, peaceful spot with direct access to the Maah Daah Hey Trail. There are eleven first-come, first-served sites—each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, vault toilet, and seasonal hand pump —perfect for a $10-a-night stopover. With Magpie Creek, Devil’s Pass and the Ice Caves nearby, it’s an ideal low-key base for exploring North Dakota’s badlands.
