Hiking Highlight

Elkhorn Campground is a remote and picturesque, first-come, first-served site located in a beautiful canyon near the Theodore Roosevelt Elkhorn Ranch Unit and directly adjacent to the Maah Daah Hey Trail. There are eight campsites with picnic tables and fire rings, a vault toilet, and a seasonal hand pump for potable water. Reservations are not required, and the fee is $10 per night. The campground follows a pack-in, pack-out policy, and is an ideal overnight spot due to its direct access to the hiking and biking trails in the surrounding badlands.
