The double sculpture, consisting of a natural stone and an upright carved form in granite, was created in 1991 by the artist Thorkild Hoffmann (1938-2018).
It is a gift from the Albani Foundation and was installed in 1991.
From the beginning (1991), the sculpture was not placed in the location desired by the artist, but rather "in the shade" next to the Fionia Bank on Østergade. When the pedestrian zone was subsequently repaved, the municipality paid for its relocation to its current and originally desired location.
