Absolutely beautifully situated and almost newly designed rest area with a fantastic view... 😎👌 Either a lounger or a picnic bench - whatever you prefer!

"Visible from afar, high on a rocky outcrop above the Sieg River, sits the medieval Blankenberg Castle complex. A trip to the town of Blankenberg is like a journey back in time. Ruins and gate towers testify to the splendor of bygone days. The Counts of Sayn chose an excellent spot for the construction of their castle (1150–1180). The fortifications on the forest-free "blanken" hill enabled the castle lords to control the access to the Sieg Valley, the Bergisches Land, the Westerwald, and the Siebengebirge."
