In July 2025, the city of Münster opened a new bike repair station in front of the youth hostel on Bismarckallee, a bicycle lane near Lake Aasee. This station can be used free of charge for minor repairs and adjustments to bicycles.
It includes a hand-cranked air pump with a pressure gauge, various wrenches and Allen keys, and two tire levers.
A great service for cyclists in Münster, the cycling city, I think! 🙂

I immediately tried inflating the pump with a hand crank, a new experience for me. When the pump's air pressure gauge worked correctly, it was very quick, even compared to floor pumps.

The tools are attached to extendable metal wires. A sensible concept, but it would be even better if the wires were a bit longer. They're mounted at a height of just under 140 cm, and the length varies slightly depending on the tool, only about 125 cm to 140 cm. Plus the length of the tools themselves. While they're certainly useful, it would be more comfortable with, say, half a meter more reach.
