The layout of Harlingen Town Hall (1732) remains largely original, with the exception of a few modernizations. The town hall was restored in 2015/2016. Stories from the past brought this beautiful, monumental building back to life. The current town hall was where the city council met. Now, the current municipal executive (Board of Mayor and Aldermen) meets there. The council chamber still serves its original purpose; however, weddings can also be held there. Harlingen Town Hall can be visited on weekdays, if the ushers' time permits.
