After the war, the Carmelite Order took over and made it an oasis of peace, reflection and prayer. There is a small chapel in the main building.
In 1922, five German sisters from Carmel Luxembourg founded a Carmel in Kordel near Trier. Since the house turns out to be unfavorable, the sisters and the convent moved in 1953 to the monastery in Auderath. There are currently 12 Carmelites living in the monastery.
