In memory of Army Second Lieutenant Joseph J. Gregory, Naval Midshipman Lawrence S. Karnowski, and all ten members of Gap Assault Team 10 of the Special Engineer Task Force.
At approximately 6:33 AM, they faced nearly impossible odds as they attempted to create a safe passage through the obstacles at Omaha Beach.
The motto of the American pioneers is:
„ESSAYONS” – „Let us try!”
