The chapel is the center of the cemetery and was designed by the architect Franz Seeck. It is a 36 m high brick building with iconic columns in front of the entrance. The two smaller chapels are located on either side; they form the end of the wing corridors leading off from the main chapel. There are 192 urn compartments in these corridors. The north and south chapels offer a beautiful atmosphere for a small funeral service. The chapel was extensively renovated from 2003 onwards; the beautiful stained glass panes were supplemented using the original technique and partially replaced because they had been damaged by vandalism. The well-preserved terrazzo floor was cleaned and repaired. Proceeds from the Bürgerpark tombola were used for this, among other things; people are happy to buy a ticket for that.
