Things are pretty busy on the Wümme meadows at the moment. Countless geese, ducks, and many migratory birds on their way north are frolicking on the remaining water surfaces. Sometimes they rise up in huge swarms and the air is filled with their calls, a great spectacle 🤩

Of course, we didn't do this round trip with a racing bike, but mostly by bus. But how else can you record such a trip? We walk along these lovely, leaf-covered, narrow paths and immediately find ourselves in a dead end because the Dreptebach stream is running too high. But there are alternatives. We always enjoy hiking through Knoops Park in winter. Today, we experienced it beautifully covered in snow in the crisp, cold weather, which was simply wonderful. However, some of the paths were icy, so we had to be careful. That's why we only did a short loop.

So much snow, and so many people are out and about enjoying this magnificent winter landscape, including us. A stroll through the Bürgerpark is a must.



Only the Shetland ponies are out in the animal enclosure, and the sheep are standing neatly in a row in the pasture.

After buying Christmas trees at Dehlwes, we take a short walk through the tranquil Truper Blänken nature reserve. It's a relaxing stroll. Even the deer, which aren't far away, remain calm and don't run off.

Walking in the fog has its own charm. We choose a quiet and beautiful route starting at the Main bridge in Mainz-Kostheim, always following the Main River. In Hochheim, we turn off and walk towards the town center. The Hochheim Market takes place here for five days, and in terms of hustle and bustle

On a foggy day, we take a stroll through Colmar. Even at this time of year, the city is packed with tourists. But Colmar has a particularly charming, idyllic old town with its many half-timbered houses and waterways, making it feel like a little Venice.
