Broad, imposing rock overhangs. It looks as if they have to yield to their weight at any time. Nonetheless, they have been here for ages. Great photo opportunity!

The hollow rocks on the Kleiner Mückenkopf (445 m) are an elongated rock massif. The consequences of a rock fall in spring 2004 can be seen at the beginning of the massif. Some of the rocks show a pronounced honeycomb structure, which is so typical of the red sandstone rocks in the Palatinate and the Vosges.

The "Hollow Rocks" stretch along the small Mückenkopf and are all impressive boulders, some with overhangs, some to crawl through.
Nice place for a picnic.
