The former Konin Synagogue was built between 1825 and 1829 on the site of an earlier wooden structure and later expanded in 1878–1883 with a neo-Moorish women's gallery and vestibule.

Although it was desecrated and repurposed by the Germans during World War II, the building was extensively restored in the 1980s, served for years as a public library, and today stands as a protected historic landmark hosting cultural events under municipal ownership .
