The village church was built in the second quarter of the 13th century in Romanesque style, later was a reconstruction in the Gothic Revival style. Striking is the high quality of the block masonry. It is a hall building with a square choir and a round apse. The west tower was built in 1577, it was partly built of field stone, partly from timber-framed. During the Thirty Years' War, the church was looted. From 1882 to 1883, the church was renovated. On June 23, 1882, the tower collapsed during construction, two workers died. In the years 1995 to 1998, the church was last renovated. The church is a monument.

1227 an Arnoldes de Lubistorp is mentioned. In Latinized form the place name appears as longa Lupstorp 1368 in a written source. The name may be derived from the Slavic personal name Lub.
The Langenlipsdorf church consists of a nave, a recessed chancel and a semicircular apse. These three sections were constructed from regular 13th-century fieldstone masonry. It is a late Romanesque complex of the so-called complete type.

Its current appearance is determined by the remodeling in the years 1882/83. A square tower was added to the west, which largely imitates the masonry of the High Middle Ages. The windows were enlarged and got jambs of yellow brick. The same material was used for the belfry of the tower, its upper edges and cornices. Apart from the outer walls, an added portal on the south side of the choir and the remains of the former windows on the nave remained from the original building.
Inside, the church has a flat roof, the triumphal arch between the nave and the chancel has a pointed arch. The furnishings are from the 18th and 19th centuries.
