The guild scouts were in 1968 for the first time in Großarl to the "regional meeting of the Alpine countries". Since then, between 300 and 500 guild scouts from 15 or more states met each year for a week of meeting in Grossarl.
Emphasis on society, cultural priorities, sociability, sports, nature experiences, discussions and exhibitions were the focus of these weeks. The Guild Scouts have built several monuments in Grossarl.

The European Table (1918-1979) is a small monument in the Pongau market town of Großarl.
The European Table is a walk-in table with a diameter of 3.5 m. It was cast from glass fiber clay. In the middle of the table top, many sculptural hands are pushing towards each other in various gestures, movements and entanglements. The hands are surrounded by the outline of Europe. Twelve stone chairs stand around the European Table. The number corresponded to the number of stars in the European flag at the time.
