The small Maria Rast Chapel behind the Feldberger Hof hotel complex was built in 1889. Fanny Mayer (1851-1934), affectionately known to this day as the Feldberg Mother, donated the chapel after recovering from a serious illness. A bronze plaque on the chapel keeps alive the memory of Fanny Mayer, the hotel's founder and a pioneer of Feldberg tourism.
