Absolute insider tip for the Meteora monasteries. For us, this monastery was by far the most interesting. It may not be the prettiest monastery compared to the others, but you are completely alone here. All other monasteries were overcrowded with tourist crowds. A special highlight for us was the personal tour and explanation of a monastery guard, who told us everything about the history of this place. He also offered us some Greek sweets and water as it was very hot that day. Incredible hospitality and very much appreciated. Definitely a special place.

Hiking

The monastery was abandoned and has since been closed. You can no longer visit it. Nevertheless, a visit is worthwhile because, unlike the large monasteries, it seems to be stuck to the rock face.
