Small town well worth seeing.
From the Münsterberg you have a beautiful view of the Rhine Valley.
Often in the focus of German and European politics, the history of the "mother town of Breisgau" goes back over 4000 years.
As early as the Neolithic Age, people settled on the plateau of today's Münsterberg and in the Celtic era there was a princely seat here,
which maintained trade relations as far as the Mediterranean.
From then on, over the centuries, under the influence of the ruling kings, thanks to its many buildings, Breisach became the religious and cultural center of the emerging community.

Breisach is located directly on the Rhine. The landmark of the city is the St. Stephansmünster, which, located on the Münsterberg, towers over the Rhine plain and the houses of the city.
The history of Breisach goes back over 4000 years. The Breisacher Münsterberg has been continuously settled since the Neolithic Age. The city of Breisach was founded around 369 AD. The Romans recognized the outstanding strategic importance of the Breisachberg and built a fort on "Mons Brisiacus".
