Hardly any transit traffic, a sporty 2315 m pass and an amazing panorama make the Albula one of the most popular mountain passes among experienced saddle skiers.

The much tougher ride climbs the pass from Tiefencastel and covers 1280 vertical meters. From La Punt it is less than half: 625 vertical meters.

The Albula is not only popular among cyclists; Railway enthusiasts all over the world enjoy the historic Rhaetian Railway. Opened in 1903, it is today a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a prime example of Swiss engineering.

Little traffic, very nice landscape. Gradual rise from the west very pleasant (By Bergün and Preda)

From Tiefencastel certainly one of the most recommendable alpine passes!
A very respectable difference in altitude for the sporting ambition and reward a beautiful route through alpine dream scenery at its best! From the green valley of Tiefencastel through a spectacular gorge up to Bergün and accompanied by the viaducts of the Albula cable car it goes up into the high-alpine zone, where the pass height is reached via boulder fields.

Beautiful climb from the north side. Little traffic and rather up a narrow street, many fountains that supply you with spring water. Absolute recommendation and very different from, for example, the Bernina Pass in the area.

Absolutely the best climb in the area. Both from the side of La Punt, the shortest, and from the mystical side of 20km.
To be addressed if you are in the area

Legendary, great pass in a picturesque landscape.
The ascent via Bergün is long and demanding.
Can be easily combined with the Julier or Flüela pass to form a round.

Incredible traffic on weekends (motorcycles, SUVs, etc.). The main road through Bergün is partially paved and has an average gradient of 9% (max. ~ 12%). The descent to La Punt is really fun.
