With hardly any transit traffic, a sporty 2,315-meter pass elevation, and a stunning panorama, the Albula is one of the most popular passes in the Alps among experienced cyclists. The significantly harder route climbs the pass from Tiefencastel, gaining 1,280 meters in altitude. From La Punt, it's less than half that: 625 meters. The Albula isn't just popular with cyclists, however; railway enthusiasts from all over the world enjoy the historic Rhaetian Railway. Opened in 1903, it is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a prime example of Swiss engineering.

Little traffic, very nice landscape. Gradual rise from the west very pleasant (By Bergün and Preda)

From Tiefencastel certainly one of the most recommendable alpine passes!
A very respectable difference in altitude for the sporting ambition and reward a beautiful route through alpine dream scenery at its best! From the green valley of Tiefencastel through a spectacular gorge up to Bergün and accompanied by the viaducts of the Albula cable car it goes up into the high-alpine zone, where the pass height is reached via boulder fields.
