Its current appearance began to take shape in 1694.
From the 17th century onward, the Lords called themselves "The Lords of the Free Barony of Hosdent," independent of Namur and Liège. The independent seigniory of Hosdent remained in existence until the end of the Ancien Régime (1794). After the French Revolution, Hosdent was merged with Latinne. The castle and its chapel were abandoned by the lords and subsequently demolished in the 19th century.
