The Strawberry Temple is a circular building that stands on a three-tiered base. The dome is supported by eight columns. Above the capitals there are bas-relief pieces depicting flower wreaths, held by a fluttering crinkle ribbon bow. On the dome there is a bowl with a standing dolphin as a crown.

Near the Strawberry Temple there used to be a grave monument commemorating Mrs. Fagel, a rich Dutch woman. She died on July 15, 1781 after eating strawberries during her treatment and then drinking fountains. Today the Strawberry Temple stands at the former burial site.

The original temple was built between 1786 and 1790 and remodeled in 1802. The current form is a redesign from 1910.
