Hiking
Esaias Tegnér was a Swedish poet and Lutheran bishop. He studied at Lund University, where he later became a lecturer in aesthetics and ultimately a professor of ancient Greek philology. In 1824, he was appointed bishop of the Diocese of Växjö. This statue of him was erected in his honor between the cathedral and the Carolingian House.
