The delightfully located, short staircase is located in one of the most patinated parts of the Buda Castle area. His name is presumably from the XVII. It was named after the heroine of the 19th century, Ilona Zrínyi, but it is also possible that it was named after the namesake of Ilonka Szabó Street, which crosses the stairs - the soprano opera singer of the II. During World War II, he was a decisive figure in the resistance movement organized against the Nazis.

Coming from the castle hill, on the long staircase downwards, there are various beautiful views of the parliament building on the other bank of the Danube and the St. Anna Church on the Buda side.
