The parish church of St. Jakobus Maior in Brochenzell dates back to the late Romanesque period. Its current appearance dates back to a renovation by the Lords of Humpis in 1624 and the Baroque redesign in 1734. In 1971, the originally east-facing church was expanded with an annex, with the former nave being converted into the new choir.
