Road cycling

A first chapel was built in 1647, but this was demolished in 1853 and replaced by a so-called "water church." This, in turn, was replaced by the present church in 1939.

Hiking

A Sint-Willibrordus chapel in Dieteren was first reported in 1647, and was served from Susteren. In 1833, Dieteren became an independent parish. The chapel was demolished in 1853, and a state-built church was constructed. In 1939, this was replaced by the current church. It was designed by Alphons Boosten. The cemetery also dates from 1855. War damage, incurred in 1944, was repaired in 1946, and the spire was completed in 1956.
