On the Kögler nature trail above the Kyjovský Valley between the Skalní bratři viewpoint and the Kyjovský hrádek castle, there is a rock formation called Obří hlava by the road.

Bark beetle calamity. Nature is taking a beating, the landscape has been changing beyond recognition for years. In places, however, this catastrophe has an unexpectedly positive effect. At the moment when most of the trees in the Kyjovský Valley and on its slopes have disappeared, the unexpected appears. For example, the website about the Lusatian Mountains mentions the Obří hlava formation, but even though I have walked by it countless times, I cannot remember it. However, now it dominates the bare slope. There is even a terrace with a tubular "binoculars" on the stairs descending from the Lion's Lair to the bed of an unnamed stream, so that no one will miss it. There is a great view of the slope from the somewhat hidden viewpoint opposite at the Kyjovský hrádek castle.
