Since the 13th century, the margraves of Baden were with the sideline of Hachberger owners and users of the plant. The great period of the castle began in the 17th century, when margrave George Frederick of Baden had it built into a fortress. In the Thirty Years' War, however, it was thoroughly destroyed in 1636. Although Margrave Friedrich VI. The rebuilding of Baden in 1660, but the Palatinate War of Succession in 1689 led to the final destruction. For a hike, we stayed here long, as much is preserved and to visit. We recommend! Regular events.

Very large, largely accessible castle complex and even at the weekend with a small kiosk for refreshment.

Well worth seeing, also for children. Second largest castle ruin of Baden-Wuerttemberg. Particularly interesting are the extensions from the 16th and 17th centuries.

We are lucky that the kiosk of the stronghold has opened. I'm looking forward to a hot bratwurst for strengthening, before the last section of the four-castle tour :-)
